Movement has been an influential part of Josephine’s life since she started dancing at the age of 3 years old at The Richmond Academy of Dance. Born and raised in Richmond, B.C., she grew up learning to love an active, outdoor lifestyle.
Josephine graduated with Honours from Ryerson University in 2017 with a BFA in Performance Dance. Her passion for movement exploration and interpretation has driven her to travel internationally to work with some of the world’s most esteemed classical and contemporary artists. She continues to train daily in pursuit of her performance career.
Josephine started her Pilates journey with Cindy Varney and Susannah Steers to support her dance training and strengthen her body after experiencing chronic injuries. Her keen interest in this movement method led to her studies in the Balanced Body Pilates Mat and Reformer Teacher Training with Heather Low at Meridian Pilates. She is thrilled to be joining the team as an Apprentice Instructor.
From her experience in teaching dance, Josephine has an energetic and compassionate approach to leading movement. She loves how the versatility of Pilates can be applied to any and every body to support one’s personal goals. She continues to feel playful and curious within this world of movement.
Outside of the studio, Josephine enjoys practising the ukulele, loves whimsical crew socks, and tea with a biscuit.
