Our Classes

How to Start

We aim to ensure success for all by placing you in the optimal class setting according to your ability and/or existing health conditions.

In order to do this, we require all beginners and most newcomers to our studio begin by taking an evaluation lesson. This is an evaluation time for both parties:

  • As a new client, you get an opportunity to sense who we are and how we approach our work with you;

  • As a studio, we get an opportunity to assess your movement abilities as well as postural or rehabilitation needs in order to offer an appropriate path of progress for you at the studio.

We are happy to answer any questions you might have prior to doing so: please email, call us, or visit our FAQs page!

Private and semi-private sessions give you an individualized approach to where you are at and the goals you are working towards in your Pilates practice. Whether you are just starting out or very experienced, private and semi-private sessions will hone your pilates practice and encourage growth, focus, function and connection. Apparatus Classes

Apparatus classes are based on access to a range of Pilates equipment, including Reformers, Towers, Chairs and Arc Barrels. Our classes are limited to 4 participants, to ensure individualized attention.

Apparatus Foundations:

Foundations

Our Apparatus Foundations class is a bridge into group classes for those who want to have more time in the foundations of the Pilates method. A combination of breathwork, preparatory Pilates movements and apparatus exercises will build core support and basic functional movement patterns while connecting you to your breath. The intention is to help you feel calm and centered in your body and in your movements.

This class is suitable for those new to Pilates, experiencing some movement hesitancy, recovering from injury, and/or simply wanting to move at a slower pace.

Apparatus 1:

Function & Focus

Are you new to Pilates, recovering from an injury, or getting back to basics? This class will focus on connecting your mind with your body to develop functional movement patterns. Quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. By developing proper technique and building a strong core, you will train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion— invaluable for injury recovery, sports performance, good posture, and optimal health.

Apparatus 1-2:

Concentrate & Coordinate

Moving beyond the basics, this class practices coordination of breath control along with organization & alignment of the torso (spine, shoulder & pelvis).  Concentration on smooth, flowing movements will strengthen mindfulness, bringing you acutely in tune with your body. Challenge yourself to put movements together with precision and strength. Improvements to breath and awareness lead to increased capacity in functional movement and improvement in athletic endeavours.

Apparatus 2:

Elevate & Integrate

With practiced concentration and control established, this class is for more experienced practitioners. It adds challenges of longer duration and intensity, developing stamina while completing the exercises with just the right amount of effort needed. You will discover how unnecessary tension releases itself from your body. Emphasizing complete concentration on functional flow and deep, powerful breathing, you will become acutely aware of how your body feels, where it is in space, and how best to control its movement.

Apparatus 3:

Power & Precision

This advanced class requires an ability to perform challenging exercises with optimal alignment, further developing your unconscious control. Fluid breath and core activation throughout the session will result in a powerful, coordinated, whole-body experience. Pilates exercises become second nature and practice leads to a powerful body with improved posture, increased strength, flexibility, and enhanced physical abilities.

Mat and Online Mat Classes

Mat classes are a unique, systematized method of working with Pilates principles, using mindfulness through movement to release, strengthen and align the body. As a participant in a Mat class, you will work through a series of floor exercises, sometimes using props such as small balls and therabands. Please see our schedule to book our online Mat offerings.

Note: For beginners with injuries, please ask us whether Mat is appropriate for you. Some chronic injuries/conditions are better served by Pilates Apparatus.
